This is what we did for art yesterday.
2. Dip chain in paint and place on sheet of paper or slosh it around.E's eldest brother came home sick from school. Consequently, I kept him home for a day and instead of keeping with E's daily tight schedule, we kept it loose and did art. He helped with folding of cleaning rags as well - practical life.
Since his brother was home, I slept in a little from being tired the day before and ended up oversleeping a little. E woke up before me and that is rare. Anyway, being nearsighted, I asked him to tell me the time as I could not make out the numbers from a distance. He said, "The numbers show that it is morning time." That just tickled me no end...... Reminded me of my own brother when he was little. A family friend came over and when asked what time it was, he said night time! I am in awe of children as their reality and sense of self is the most devoid of illusions hence leading me to a sacred place I vaguely recall - a time when I too was innocent and gave no cloak to my words. They'd tumble out of my mouth as I saw and thought of things. Totally transparent.

I love my kiddos art. We frame them and make beautiful hangings.Very neat design he made there.
Yes, it is truly a blessing to be given the opportunity to witness and experience the creativity and joy our children demonstrate at every stage in their lives. What's happening is a growing stock of E's work here. Someday, I'll have to pick and choose and keep only a handful I believe. It'll be soooooo... hard. :-(
